With the great scientific progress in all fields of industry, technology and scientific research, it has become necessary to find better and more developed types of fuel, lubricating oils and other petroleum products required for various purposes of industry, agriculture and other service utilities.

In order to achieve this aim, it was necessary for the Company to build specialised test laboratories, in order to analyse and evaluate the properties of petroleum products, determine their performance standards and their ability to meet the requirements of various machinery, especially state-of –the –art equipement.

Misr Petroleum took the initiative,and established the Research Center in Ghamra, to satisfy these requirements.
